You Waited by Travis Greene πŸŽΆπŸ’•πŸŒ»

We love Him because He first loved us. – 1 John 4:19 NKJV

There’s not a day that goes by that I don’t think about God. However, that wasn’t always the case.

I remember living life without a care in the world. Meanwhile, God was pursuing me the entire time. I was so wrapped up in “living” my life that I didn’t even stop to consider the One who gave up His life on the cross for us. I often reflect on how long I went without acknowledging how critical it was for me to allow Jesus into my heart. Yet, He continued pursuing me. He didn’t give up on me. He didn’t lose hope. Instead, He waited patiently for me. He received me with open arms just as I was. His embrace was unlike anything else I’ve experienced before.

I love Him because He loved me first. His love for me in spite of my flaws & shortcomings has taught me to love myself & others in the same way. This song has ministered to my heart in such a special way. It reminds me of how much I needed Him when I first asked Him to enter into my heart & how I need Him just as much today. I will always need Jesus. And I’m grateful that I get to worship & praise Him without a caring what the world thinks of me.

I know the life I was living before accepting into my life & it wasn’t a good one. I know that I would not be the woman I am today had it not been for His love, grace & mercy. I’m grateful for His pursuit of me & His forgiveness. I know I will never be able to love Him as much as He loves me but I will surely live my life honoring Him as best as I know how because He is worthy. I will continue to share the love of God with my family, friends & those He allow me to cross paths with.

Lord, Thank you for not giving up on me. Thank you for waiting patiently for me. Thank you for your continuous pursuit of my heart. Your continuous grace & mercy. Your unconditional love. Thank You for You! I needed you then, I need you now & I will need you always! In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen!
