Reminder: Keep pressing on!

Before I head out from work, I wanted to quickly share these words with you:

KEEP PRESSING ON!!

These last several weeks have been HARD but I finally had a breakthrough yesterday. It’s awesome to have someone in your corner that will not be afraid to intercede (also known as intervene on behalf of another) and pray for you when you don’t even have the strength to do so. Of course, you want to always turn to God as we are instructed to in 1 Peter 5:7. It tells us to give all our worries and cares to God, for He cares about us. But it’s a beautiful thing when you have individuals that will encourage you and lift you up as you are going THROUGH it. Sometimes you need a reminder that you ARE VICTORIOUS and although weapons will be formed, they SHALL NOT PROSPER!

The calling that God has on our lives are far greater than what we could ever fathom and knowing this simple fact the enemy will not allow you to walk into your purpose or walk your purpose out without attacking you from all different angles especially your mind. I’ll admit, I’ve let the enemy bring me down to the point that I was ready to throw in the towel and call it a wrap on Tuesday.

(Backstory) I’ve always had a passion for writing. But in 2015 God began to show me that I would be writing a book. I kept brushing it off. On December 26, 2015, I read a devotional that spoke so clearly to my situation and what I needed to do and then the very next day I went to church and the pastor preached on a powerful message and I believe God allowed me to be there on that day for me to hear that message because He knew I had been doubting Him because I didn’t find myself to be qualified and to be honest I still don’t. We can be hard headed most times but God will continue to confirm things to you like He did with Bishop Searight at Abundant Life Church on that day when he said, “Write that book”.

Since then I’ve been writing and posting on social media and made myself believe that’s what he meant but He’s been revealing more and more to me and there is no way I can deny the call any longer. I remember sitting on my kitchen table and hearing God say to me, “Who do you think you are to believe I’m not capable of giving this vision to someone else who will be obedient enough to do what I’ve called them to do”? I know it sounds crazy but I know it was God and not just a thought that crossed my mind. But that’s all it took for me to stop playing games and I started to become intentional about this book but the journey has not been an easy one.

It wasn’t until I opened up to one of my sisters in Christ this week (as I’ve done before to a chosen few – her included) and asked if she would pray for me and she did. But before I got to listen to her message, I turned to Hebrews 12:1-13 and it comforted me in such a profound way and then listening to her message encouraged me that much more.

There are so many more revelations and confirmations that I received from God and I’d love to share them all but the point of my post is to encourage you to continue to press on no matter how hard it gets. The enemy knows that you are a force to be reckoned with and he will do whatever it takes to keep you from fulfilling your God given purpose but we must continue keep going and not give up.

We are WARRIORS and we are VICTORIOUS in Christ Jesus.

Keep going. God got us, ya’ll!!

Blessings!

Can I be transparent? πŸ™„πŸ’

Have you ever felt like you would give anything to get away, far away, just you and God? Away from distractions? Away from responsibilities? Away from people? Away from your own thoughts and emotions?

Yupp!! That’s what I’m experiencing right now. But yet I am alone in my car and instead of taking this time to spend with God, I’m here blogging instead. It’s foolish of me to continue typing because minutes before I pulled my phone back out to type all of this I was just saying outloud, “I want more of You, God. I just want more of You.”

But then minutes before that I was looking through my contacts checking to see who I can call to speak to or to text before tossing my phone into my bag. Are you kidding me?!? I wanna smack myself for this foolishness. Do you see what I mean though when I say I’ve been on this emotional roller coaster that just keeps going up and down?!?!

Oftentimes we want to hear from God or we want more of Him but we allow anything and everything else to take His place. Many of us desire companionship and/or encouragement but yet the best companion and guidance available to us at all times is the Holy Spirit and His Word but yet we take it for granted.

I’ve been on this emotional rollercoaster and as much as I want to come off of it, I seem to stay stuck in it. The feeling SUCKS!!! I know this too shall pass and I know God is faithful but I also must do my part and draw near to Him and allow Him to sit back on the throne of my heart where He belongs.

Clearly, there is nothing and no one that could ever fill us up like He can and I pray that we would finally get a grip on this truth and truly submit and surrender to God wholeheartedly and shut down whatever schemes, plans and tactics the enemy is trying to rise up in our mind, heart and spirit! May we be filled with an overflow of His love, His joy and His peace.

Lord, how are you going to get me there?

Lately, I’ve been in an emotional roller coaster. One minute I’m feeling encouraged and on fire for God and then the next minute I’m feeling discouraged and stagnant. But I’m grateful that I can always turn to God and He is the same at all times. His grace is truly sufficient and He always finds a way to remind us of this truth. I pray this devotional and song blesses you as it blessed me. πŸ’•πŸŒ»

β€œThe steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord,
And He delights in his way.” Psalms 37:23

Some of you are wondering how God is going to get you from where you are today to where He wants you to be. How can He get us from where we are in our current situations, and our current lives to the great destiny, that we know deep in our hearts, God has in mind for us?

Long Time No Post

Hi Family –

It’s been a while and so much has happened since my last post but I will share a few posts in the near future letting you know all about it but for now I wanted to share the link of a movie my sis and I watched yesterday that truly touched us. I wish I can elaborate but I don’t want to spoil it for you. I will share my thoughts on a future post but I pray it blesses you as it blessed us – Same Kind of Different as Me.

Live Your Best Life

πŸ”Š Live your best life!! πŸ€œπŸΌπŸ€›πŸΌ

Sometimes we have people, who love us dearly and want to see us win (mentally, physically, emotionally, financially and spiritually) because they see our potential better than we can. They believe that if they were able to come out stronger on the other side, we can too. They try to encourage us as much as they can. They show us how much they love us, not just with their words but by their action. They remind us how awesome we are and how we deserve so much more than what we’ve made ourselves believe. Because they sincerely care for us. πŸ’•

Turning A Mess Into A Message

I believe we all have a story to tell and how we choose to share it is completely up to us. There are people who may have been or may currently be on a similar path you once were on and sharing your experience and how you were able to overcome could possibly be the encouragement they need not to lose hope and motivate them to keep going.

How to Protect Yourself from These 10 Toxic People

This is a powerful article I read a year ago & I always go back to it when I need to self reflect & reevaluate.

Life is precious. Yet all too often, we may find that much of our time is spent around negative, toxic people, draining the life right out of us. Sometimes they’re co-workers, friends, or sadly, even family members.

God never intends for us to spin our wheels, waste our days, trying to make others happy who can never be happy. Because in reality, it doesn’t depend on us. It’s not up to you. They may want you to think it does, as if you possess the power to improve the value of their existence, but that’s not a burden meant for you to carry.

A love letter to ME! πŸ’Œ

πŸ’πŸ’“ Oftentimes, we fail to love ourselves in the way we desire for others to love us. We fail at being kind, patient & forgiving towards ourselves. As I sit back & reflect on all I’ve been through in my life I couldn’t help but feel compassion. I feel this often but it’s been a while since I have verbally expressed it to myself so I couldn’t help but to share this with you all …
