The last several days have been indescribable. There are truly no words for how God showed out at this retreat. It will be an experience I will never forget & will forever carry in my heart.
I’m grateful that God has allowed me to attend this retreat (first retreat ever) & I’m looking forward to an awesome experience. Not only have I been praying for an open heart & mind in order to RECEIVE all that God has in store for us but that I also APPLY it to my life.
Currently listening to one of my go-to playlists.
A few weeks ago, I began to read the book of Proverbs. I had been desiring for more of God and of His Word. God truly knows our heart’s desires and will fulfill them as He sees fit. Several months ago, I joined a book study at one of my friend’s church and we created a group chat on Whatsapp so that we can stay in communication. One of the girls in our chat encouraged us to join her in reading the book of Proverbs. This was only just a couple of weeks ago and it’s been awesome. When we truly are intentional about spending time with God and reading His Word, the Holy Spirit will give us the understanding we need and will reveal things that can only be revealed to us with His help.
No matter how great someone’s relationship or marriage may look like on social media or in person, no relationship is perfect. We should never glorify someone’s relationship & lose sight on how blessed we are in our own relationship/marriage regardless of our shortcomings. For those that are in unhappy/unhealthy relationships or who may be single, I know how discouraging it can be sometimes to see other couples succeeding but I encourage you not to lose hope. Feeling discouraged doesn’t mean you’re jealous, envious or bitter – it just means what it means, “having lost confidence or enthusiasm; disheartened”.
💭💓 Oftentimes, we fail to love ourselves in the way we desire for others to love us. We fail at being kind, patient & forgiving towards ourselves. As I sit back & reflect on all I’ve been through in my life I couldn’t help but feel compassion. I feel this often but it’s been a while since I have verbally expressed it to myself so I couldn’t help but to share this with you all …
Today, I had a heart to heart with a good friend of mine. Someone I love dearly but then again I love all of my friends dearly – 😉😙. I am truly blessed to have friends that I can call sisters. Friends that I can be 100% real with and vice versa. Today’s heart to heart was deeper than it has ever been. We cried. We shared. We cried some more. This wasn’t out of the norm as we have cried and shared many times in the past but this time around we shared some things with one another that most people would be too prideful to ever admit. I will not disclose our conversation but I will share a devotional that pretty much sums it up. It’s a lengthy message but I know it will bless you as it did me.
“Oceans” is a very popular worship song. I remember one night kneeling by my bed crying out to God as I repeated the words to this song. I didn’t realize how quickly He would answer my request. I’d be lying if I told you it was a smooth sailing experience after that night. It wasn’t. But that night was the beginning of a new chapter in my life.
🤣 #ImAHotMess But in all seriousness, don’t hold back from being who YOU are. Let me just be clear on something. If you’re rude, disrespectful & your intentions are just malicious then you truly need to look within & ask yourself why that is. That’s not what I’m referring to. What I mean is don’t hold back from being the person you fought so hard to become. Sometimes we feel the need to wear these different masks to satisfy others. Why?!? 🤔
🤗 I’m SO excited! Our 1st Annual Women Empowerment Brunch is just a few weeks away – March 17th – in honor of Women’s History Month. ♀️ I can’t wait for this awesome gathering and the opportunity to engage, encourage and empower one another to be the best version of ourselves.
“Stay in your lane” is what you would normally tell someone when you’re trying to let them know not to worry about what doesn’t concern them or to simply mind their own business.
